These have been my main interests since childhood. For many years, my Navajo/Hispanic husband and I studied Native American petroglyphs/pictographs. We created and designed a whole line of rock art and pottery sherd jewelry. We photographed found pottery sherds, reburied them, and then used the lines and patterns in our jewelry along with the designs from the rocks which we never touched. Our daughter was homeschooled out in these archaeological sites learning respect and sensitivity to these precious places and images. Her drawings were heavily influenced by the rock art she saw. When she turned 8, she and I started a line of jewelry called “The Happy People Collection”. Her drawings, stick figures of people and animals very similar to zoomorphic and anthropomorphic beings we had seen and awed over for many years were cut in silver with added writings that all three of us came up with. Silent peaceful canyons allow for hours of inner spiritual introspection. Over the years, our jewelry lines have evolved and changed. What you see listed here on my Etsy shop is just a small sample of the wealth of experience that we created hiking, photographing, just being with remains of The Ancient Ones... their stories, along with my extraordinary husband, will always echo from my heart onto metal and hopefully into yours.
