It all started with an unfortunate purchase.
Having spent too many years in the corporate world, I secretly had a desire to simply work with my hands. It started out small, but the creativity bug kept growing until I could ignore it no longer.
It all began on a hot summer day with the purchase of a scratchy ankle bracelet at a local craft fair...the beads the crafter used were small squares that chafed and scraped every time I took a step. But instead of throwing it away, I took a good look at it and decided to simply replace the square beads with round ones. That did the trick, but it also ignited a fuse and spurred me on to create other things. Necklaces, earrings, rings…I was off and running.
Of course, by this time, I'd heard of Etsy and even knew a few people who had shops that were doing well. But for me, it wasn't until I visited Scotland, England, Ireland and Italy that inspiration struck. Soaring stained glass windows of medieval cathedrals, poignant remains of abbey ruins, small but no less impressive countryside chapels - they all left me inspired and renewed. The religious iconography of the old world simply blew me away. And thus was born Divine Crossings. I plan to continue my travels and will attempt to interpret the art of faith in a way that is both my own and pays homage to the past.
