About Me – Custom illustrations

Welcome to Dream Scribble!
I’m Melanie, the artist behind the shop, creating personalised pet and family portraits from your photographs.

I create custom portraits for dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, birds, guinea pigs and many other beloved pets, as well as family portraits and meaningful keepsakes for special occasions. Whether you’re celebrating a new addition to the family, remembering a cherished companion, or searching for a thoughtful gift, my aim is to create artwork that can be treasured for years to come.

✨ HOW YOUR PORTRAIT IS CREATED ✨

AI is used as part of the initial creative process using your pet’s photo. Each portrait is then individually finished by hand in Procreate using Apple Pencil, with unique details, adjustments and refinements added to create the final artwork.

Every portrait is personally reviewed and edited by me before your proof is sent for approval. If you’d like any additional changes, extra edits can be requested at the proof stage before your portrait is finalised.

What kind of portraits do you offer?

I create personalised pet and family portraits from your photographs. Every artwork is individually created, edited and refined using Apple Pencil & Procreate, with a soft watercolour and illustration style. I can also add names or simple personalised text if requested.

How do I order a custom portrait?

Simply place your order and send me your favourite photos via Etsy Messages. If you’d like multiple pets in one portrait, separate photos are absolutely fine. Once your artwork is ready, I’ll send you a proof via Etsy Messages for approval before dispatch.

What type of photos should I send for the portrait?

Clear, well-lit photos work best, but older photos can often be used too. Multiple photos are welcome, and separate pet photos can be combined into one portrait. If you’re unsure which photos to send, just message me and I’ll be happy to help.

How long does it take to complete a portrait?

My current creation time is approximately 1 week. Once your artwork is finished, I’ll send you a proof via Etsy Messages before dispatch. To avoid delays, please approve your proof as soon as possible. Standard UK delivery usually takes 3–5 working days, with faster postage upgrades available.

What if I want changes made to my portrait?

A proof of your artwork will always be sent before dispatch, giving you the opportunity to request small adjustments. I’ll happily make reasonable edits until you’re happy with the final result. Once the proof has been approved and your order has been dispatched or your digital file delivered, further changes cannot usually be made.

Do you offer digital downloads or physical prints?

Yes! You can choose either a high-quality digital file or a physical archival print when placing your order.

For digital file orders, please send your email address as soon as possible after ordering so I can deliver your high-resolution, print-ready file.

Can I request a portrait of multiple people or pets?

Absolutely! Multiple pets can be combined into one portrait, and separate photos are perfectly fine. Simply send your favourite photo of each pet and I’ll create a natural composition for your artwork.

How is the artwork created?

Each portrait is individually created, edited and refined using Apple Pencil & Procreate. My artwork has a soft watercolour and illustration style, carefully designed to capture your pet’s unique personality from your photographs.

Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

Because every portrait is personalised, refunds or exchanges are generally not available once the artwork has been approved and completed. A proof is always sent via Etsy Messages before dispatch, giving you the opportunity to request any adjustments before your order is finalised.
