A weekend DIY warrior who turned into a woodworker!
Welcome to the Duffey Woodcraft Etsy shop. But who or what is Duffey Woodcraft you ask? Well, sit back and grab a glass of your favorite whiskey for a thrilling tale... Ok maybe not thrilling but it's a tale at least.
Duffey Woodcraft is Alex Duffey, a weekend DIY warrior turned woodworker. Over the past 20 years, Alex has jumped from one hobby to another. Literally everything from Pokemon cards to R/C Airplanes to trying to play the piano, but nothing stuck. However in 2019 Alex who had become a DIYer over the previous few years, started playing around with making things out of wood. He remembered taking a woodworking class in highschool but never had space or access to continue it. He also knew woodworking ran in his blood, as his late grandfather was a woodworker by trade. Alex quickly fell in love with simple joy of building something with his hands. When you work on a computer all day, the simple joy of making something out of a block of wood is very refreshing. In 2020 Alex purchased his first wood lathe after many months of YouTube education. A broken finger and a few years later he has expanded from making bowls and vases to cutting boards, coffee tables and computer desks. Alex has found his passion and if you are still reading this, thank you for being part of it!
