The Beginning
I have always loved the thrill have hunting for treasures at estate sales and yard sales. There is just something about it that gives me pleasure.
When I was introduced to Etsy it seemed like the way I should go especially since I did not like my job. It was take the plunge or stay where my soul was chipped away daily. There was only one choice, and I took the leap to be a small business owner and creator/designer in my other two Etsy shops.
Needless to say I am very busy. My day usually starts at 6 am, in my office with panoramic views to my gardens. I am very lucky to have landscaped my large yard in my youth so I can enjoy it today. I spend the first several hours boxing and mailing my orders and listing new product.
I always have many projects going in my other two stores, so several hours are devoted to creating. My painting studio is outdoors and my sewing studio is the sunroom with a view of my pond and rock gardens.
I usually photograph and edit my pictures in the evening, ready for posting in the morning.
I have a large family room that was never used and is now storage for my shop.
Thursday through Saturday are spent scouring around for new treasures. I meet great people and visit nice areas.
Working for yourself is the way to go! The saying is true, if you love your job, you will never work a day in your life!
