I adore this picture book. If you're familiar with Brian C's artwork, you'll recognize the same playful, colorful, freestyle forms of his prints. This board book does what great kids books do: take a complex thought or emotion (in this case, shyness, masking, & fear of new things) and transform it into a form that is easy to comprehend, even for the youngest of readers.

Such a cool mug that I got as a gift for my wife. She can now enjoy some mushroom smiles with her morning coffee. Thank you!

Brian responded on Sep 26, 2026

Do you guys add any mushroom powders to your morning coffee or tea? i do, i don't necessarily feel smarter or quicker but i like it's sort of earthy taste. mushroom powder in the mushroom mug though, that's a recipe for instant de-brain-fogging

The FM Shingle origin story

Fugazi was one of my favorite bands growing up, and Fugazi never sold T-Shirts. They were purely about the music and that made a huge impression on me. Fast forward a bunch of years and my band Lightning Bolt took up the mantle, no T-shirts . We weren't really dogmatic about it, i just wasn't interested. But then a decade or more into the band someone really pushed me to make a t-shirt for a tour. and so i did. and we sold a bunch, and it helped cover tour expenses. So we started doing tour shirts. Little by little i realized hey wait i wear band shirts, i draw all the time, and we're not Fugazi, so why not design Lightning Bolt band shirts? So i did, and now i've gone crazy and can't stop making shirts. And print on demand makes it happen faster and more affordably than ever because there's no big up front expense to make a run of shirts, so here we are!
