I am a carver, coming from a three generations of carvers. My grandfather started this job in 1918, after the War and each time I touch one of my works I feel this history. I can't stop carving just because of the crisis, that's why I'm here, trying to reach you. Sorry for my English, I'm funnier in my mothertongue !
The love of my family for antique and beautiful woods, the Renaissance tradition in carving typical of Florence are represented with our frames, baroque, rococò, golden Renaissance frames known and located all over the world. But, despite our expertise, I learn new things and techniques every day and this is why I love so much this job. I can listen to the radio, I can meditate in silence, touch the wood and feel the centuries of his long life...
My woods are chosen from sustainable and local woodlot owners with the intention of sharing with my customers the best and the excellency of Tuscan forests. Each wood represents a story, a typical path and the landscapes you've maybe seen on italian postcards.
My wood studio/lab is located in Chiantishire, the tuscan land known for its wonderful wines. I would love if you'd visit me during your staying in Tuscany, sharing with you the best secrets of this amazing region.
Each work is completely handmade, and as it says the name of my firm, I try to represent the Florentine Touch, the love for beauty and the passion for art that is everywhere in this city. Due to my experience in carving Renaissance golden frames, I can realize very detailed items, completely customizable and adapted to your need.
THIS ETSY SHOP IS A COMPLETELY NEW EXPERIMENT FOR ME, I'd love to share with you my passion and my creations, the historical background of the art of carving and the uniqueness and timelessly of woods.
When we watch a child playing, we think of the great future that awaits him...we want him to grow well, polite, we dream big things for him, we want him to study in the best schools and we often tend to build a path already marked, so to speak. In our old workshop, many boys and girls have become men and women through the art of carving, sharing passion, joy and hardness of learning new things all the time. I remember my grandfather and my father teach them the techiniques, the finest methods to become masters in this art.
Only by adapting teaching to each individual subject, we managed to get good and happy carvers, who have practiced the art of sculpture in Florence for a lifetime.
But in first, they brought out their talent always kept hidden.

LEONARDO or MICHELANGELO... or almost !!! ;-))
