GarlicPottery

This Privacy Policy describes how GarlicPottery (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you purchase from our Etsy shop, contact us, or otherwise interact with us. This policy applies in addition to Etsy’s own Privacy Policy, which governs the platform-level collection and processing of your data.

1. Scope

This policy applies to customers in the United Kingdom and other countries where we ship, excluding Europe.

2. Information We Collect

To fulfil your order and run our shop, we collect personal information you provide directly to us or through Etsy, including:

· Order information: your name, billing address, shipping address, and email address
· Payment information: processed by Etsy and its payment processors. We never store your payment details
· Order details: the items you purchased, order history, and any messages you send us through Etsy Conversations
· Customisation details: for personalised pet urns, this may include your pet’s name, dates, messages, photographs, or other details you provide for engraving or design purposes

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

· Fulfil and ship your order, including creating your personalised memorial item
· Communicate with you about your order, including shipping updates, customisation confirmations, and any issues
· Handle returns, exchanges, or refunds
· Comply with our legal obligations, including tax reporting and recordkeeping

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

4. Customisation Data — Special Note

Because our products are personalised memorial items, the customisation details you provide (such as your pet’s name, photograph, or dates) are treated with care and confidentiality.

· Customisation details are used solely to create your ordered item
· We do not display your completed memorial on our shopfront, portfolio, or social media without your express written consent
· If you send us a photograph, it is used only for the engraving or design process and is not shared with any third party beyond what is necessary to produce your item
· We will delete or anonymise customisation data upon your request, subject to our legal recordkeeping obligations

5. How We Share Your Information

We share your personal information only with the third parties needed to fulfil your order and run our shop:

· Etsy, which hosts our shop and processes orders and payments on our behalf
· Payment processors used by Etsy, including Etsy Payments and, where offered, PayPal
· Shipping carriers we use to deliver your order (e.g., Royal Mail, UPS, DHL, or your local postal service)
· Government authorities, courts, or law enforcement if required by law

We do not sell your personal information.

6. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom. If you are located outside our country, your order information will be transferred to and processed in our country and in any countries where our service providers operate, including the United States, where Etsy is based.

We do not transfer personal data to the EU/EEA/Switzerland for order fulfilment because we do not sell to those regions.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as needed to:

· Fulfil your order and handle any follow-up (returns, exchanges, support)
· Comply with our legal obligations, including tax and accounting records (typically 6 years under UK law)
· Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

After that period, we delete or anonymise your personal information.

8. Your Rights

If you are located in the United Kingdom, you have rights under the UK GDPR, including the right to:

· Access the personal information we hold about you
· Request that we correct or update inaccurate information
· Request that we delete your personal information, subject to our legal obligations
· Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
· Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
· Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

If you are located in another country where we ship, you may have similar rights under your local law.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [your contact email].

9. Marketing

We will only send you marketing or promotional messages if you have given us your express consent to do so. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. We will never add you to a mailing list or send unsolicited promotional messages through Etsy Conversations.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
