From Childhood Dreams of Color to Handcrafted Matchstick Art – A Journey Sparked by Wonder.
Ever since I was a little girl, maybe around four years old, I’ve been mesmerized by color. I still remember standing outside the stationery shop in my small hometown, staring at the giant 120-piece colored pencil box displayed behind the glass. It was my dream to own it one day.
My parents could only afford the 24-piece set, but even that felt magical to me. I would sit for hours just looking at the colors, imagining all the beautiful things I could create with them.
That childhood wonder never left me.
Even now, as an adult and a parent, when I take my daughter shopping for school supplies, I still find myself stopping in the pencil aisle, just to look, to smell, and to feel that same spark of inspiration.
Over time, that love for color grew into something even more meaningful. I taught myself Photoshop and began learning how to turn ideas, colors, and small details into designs I could use in my shop. What started as a childhood love for colored pencils has slowly become a creative skill that helps me bring each customer’s vision to life.
This love for color and design is what eventually led me to create my matchstick shop. Each set of matches I make feels like a mini art piece, a carefully chosen palette, just like those pencil boxes I used to dream about. Whether it’s soft pastels, bold brights, romantic tones, or earthy neutrals, every color combination is intentional, meaningful, and made to spark joy.
I hope when you open one of my match jars, tubes, or custom matchboxes, you feel a little bit of that same childhood wonder, of holding something simple, yet so full of possibility.
