The first time I held a piece of leather in my hand I was 19 years old. Before that moment I don’t remember having any contact with this craft but the idea of making things with my own two hands got me inexplicably excited.
With a well developed passion for accessories and a little bit of experience in fashion as a model in a small agency, I decided to give it a try.
At first I started making bracelets. With zero experience but with a lot of creativity and enthusiasm, I continued making new designs until somebody actually bought some bracelets. I got so happy, I could barely breathe. In that moment I decided leathercrafting is what I want to do and nothing else.
For the next year I continued making bracelets and started to be better and better at the craft. In my search for inspiration I started to notice a new area, that of handcrafted leather accessories for women, which got me curious. Curious but not yet convinced, that until a friend recommended I should at least try. And she was right.
Little did I knew how much I would like making them. At first it was challenging but once I started to make the first pieces I was amazed by the possibilities and freedom of design. In my excitement for this craft my girlfriend became passionate too about it so we started to work together in developing a new project.
This is how s.o.s collections was born.
The turning point was in 2017, when we joined Etsy and started sharing our work on this platform. Soon enough more and more people started to buy our products. This motivated me develop my skills and to be better and better in what I do. Never have I imagined that a curiosity could grow from a hobby, to a part-time occupation to a full workshop where I am free to create.
Now, the next step is this. We are excited to announce that the new name of our brand is HAUTE CUIR. It is a big change but we feel that only like this we can grow even further. Our work in the last two years was focused on pushing the limits of what we can create and, along with this, the vision on what we want to express through our creations is clearer.
HAUTE CUIR is more than just a brand name. It is the promise of quality and excellence.
