Tale of Hexotica
Hello from Melbourne, a hip city full of great electro, art and fashion; Australia's cultural capitol!
I'm Christine Rice, designer and owner of Hexotica.
I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, U.S., but came to live in Australia 16 years ago when I fell in love with Melbourne. Since then I've found my calling pursuing my second life-long passion after literature in costume accessories.
I have been crafting costume accessories since my childhood, having sold my first bracelet at age 7, so I have over 29 years self-taught experience crafting jewelry in addition to 8 years in the wholesale jewelry industry as an assembler. I have assembled accessories and fascinators that were sold to boutiques such as Allanah Hill, Kookai, Bardot, Sportgirl and many other boutique clothing stores across Australia, so you can rest assured the quality of my products is up to the standards of these well-known retailers.
I enjoy making things people can collect and cherish the way I adore my own extensive jewelry collection, from exotic foreign countries to the local garage sale; every piece has a special meaning for me. I strive to create pieces that I hope will also be cherished and remembered not just for the special occasion for which they were worn, but as a unique treasure of handcrafted beauty and elegance.
