In Vince Veritas
In 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic forced us all into a lockdown. At the time I was taking German classes and when that came to a halt I suddenly found myself with a lot of time to spare. Trying to make something useful out of all that I decided to work on a side project: a series of digital graphic posters.
This idea actually had two origins: a series of posters I started in 2016, to celebrate Guns N’ Roses‘ Use Your Illusion albums (which were turning 25 at the time); and a series inspired in the collective nouns of animals (which have some really fun names like “A Business of Ferrets”).
It was also an opportunity to exercise my creativity and to learn and practice some design skills in Photoshop and Illustrator.
This one (https://www.etsy.com/listing/802689136/woman-face-portrait-printable-digital), for example, let me try some mezzotint effects and create illustrations based on real people's portraits.
This project ended up with over 40 digital graphic posters. I went on and created an Instagram account to share and showcase these artworks and put together an Etsy Store. And that’s how "In Vince Veritas" was born.
The nicest thing about it is to see that something that started as a personal side project ended up being appreciated (and bought!) by people from different corners of the world, from Australia to Canada, passing through the UK, USA, Germany, Latvia, and Brazil.
And one of the artworks - the glass of wine with the heart - was even turned into a tattoo, that a friend of mine did on her arm :D
