All things are connected.
I have been interested in the aesthetics of the world around me as far back as I’m able to recall. I grew up drawing and painting and making things out of other things. I colored both inside and outside the lines. There is a natural aptitude that has been present in me throughout my creative life and it has manifested differently at various times and in various pursuits. I’ve been inspired by the natural world and my fellow living beings that I share this world with. I have always appreciated that things may serve more than one purpose, or have more than one “life” or existence. All things are connected.
Working with wood has allowed me to reimagine, repurpose and reuse, and recycle items that have already served a need and to create a new life for them in an aesthetically pleasing form. My skills have been honed over more than two decades of professional experience ranging from antique repair and refinishing to furniture prototyping, to production builds and custom, one-off fabrications and many things in between and in addition to.
I continue to be inspired by the beauty around me and the endless possibilities that are before me. The wood I use nearly always suggests and sometimes even reveals its path forward. Shapes emerge from patterns, and patterns from shapes. Grain often speaks loudly but sometimes keeps quiet.
