Recognised by the Queen of England for Designs inspired by the World Around.Custom Work Welcomed
Hi!
Thank you for visiting my store!
I am a designer with over 50 years experience bringing my ideas to fruition. My influences are my heritage, family and the great design eras of Victorian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
I founded the Ari D Norman manufacturing silversmiths company in 1974 and have since travelled the world selling my creations.
Now with my sons gradually taking over the manufacturing company and brand I have decided it’s too early to retire!
So I have decided to continue to follow my true creative passion and bring you the best and most classic designs. Some old some new but all are exceptional and now on Etsy!
Every quarter I will add to this treasure trove of beauties and am happy to do custom work according to your idea and passion and I can work in nearly any material.
Happy shopping!
For a more detailed bio of me and just who and where I have come from and done please see below....
My grandfather was a diamond cleaver in Antwerp, Belgium in the 1930's and early 1940's. My father was a diamond prospector in Liberia, West Africa....Jewellery was in my blood.
It all started a long time ago living in West Africa, becoming a hippy, road tripping through North and South America, across India and Asia. I travelled through many exciting and exotic countries absorbing and admiring their varied cultures, flora fauna and exciting handicrafts.
It was in Mexico, in the small town of Taxco that I first encountered authentic silversmiths producing handmade jewellery and gifts. I had a keen eye for originality and bought a few pieces, which on my return to England I found were well appreciated in the thriving Kings Road of the 70's.
I realised that I had discovered a way to finance my passion for travel, so I returned to Mexico for more. This time, however, instead of buying what was already available, I came up with my own creative style based on the kaleidoscope of international travel visions with the addition of Victorian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco influences. Upon my return to England, proudly bearing my unique collection of jewellery and small gifts I was very encouraged by the positive reaction received. I repeated this creative experience in many other countries meeting with local craftsmen skilled in producing handicrafts made of many varied materials, from the stonecutter's descendants of the Taj Mahal to the skilled batik producers of Indonesia, to the tortoise shell craftsmen of Sri Lanka, and silversmiths in Bangkok.
I found that I enjoyed and best expressed myself through jewellery and small silver gifts such as pillboxes and tooth fairy boxes and I focused on these as the best medium of expression for my creativity.
The JewelAri Design Collection is emotionally inspiring, expresses your individuality and to be enjoyed.
