I read the book Earthing several years ago and it resonated with me. I had always loved the outdoors, and when framed in terms of electrical circuitry there is a natural reason; human processes typically generate a positive charge, while the earth's crust carries a negative charge. When you touch the earth or a grounding mat you allow these charges to neutralize and restore electrical balance in your body, affecting function at many levels. I made some as Christmas presents one year, and soon people were asking me for more! Those first gifts evolved into my first company, Stay Grounded.
