Motivated by making things I love to wear!
My venture into jewelry making began prior to the business casual trend in the office world. Convinced that beautiful jewelry could be affordable, I started to repurpose old jewelry parts into contemporary designs. This is where the original name of Gypsy Girls began. My mantra is that I can find interesting things to incorporate into my designs through my travels (like a wandering gypsy). Working in a setting where I dressed for success, I started making my own jewelry to compliment my wardrobe.
I have sold my work in street fairs here and there over the last 10 years under the name Gypsy Girls Jewelry and more recently as Gypsy Girls Design. The first showing of my jewelry happened in my office jobs where I would discretely pass around my "show and tell" box to employees. From there I progressed to doing private in-home showings. Since that time, I have sold my pieces through local shops and through the occasional shows I do each year.
My real love is fine silver clay, earning a Level I certification from Art Clay USA in the use and teaching of it.
