An old friend came back from England in 2006 with a new accent and a new love of knitting. In 2008 she taught me how to knit and it was something that I really loved and took off with. I starting making scarves and selling them at craft shows and to friends, and a little bit on Etsy, but I never thought it would turn into the passion that it is today.
In 2012, after my husband and I moved to Portland and a week later, decided to drive back to Illinois, we knew that we needed a plan, we needed to do something, so that was when Knittorious was given a name and we opened a store. I honed my skill and am now able to make people all the things that you see today. I closed the stores doors after having our first born son, so that I was able to soak up all the baby snuggles. Fast forward to 2022 and I now have 4 children and a leopard gecko, and the time to knit finished products is few and far between, that is why I started offering beginners crochet and knitting kits in 2020, so that I can teach you how to create something with your own hands and hopefully fall in love with it too.
My other Etsy shop has a collection of my vintage finds:

4 out of 5 starsI really love this kit, but caution that the video guide isn’t for “absolute beginners” — take some time to practice your slip knot and knit stitch before diving in. Once you have the basics, the headband is easy to make and the wool is such a nice quality!

4 out of 5 starsI am a beginning knitter and thought this would be a great way to start. It was a challenge and I restarted 8 times. I also got help from a mentor. However, I was successful at finishing and love the results.

5 out of 5 starsI really love the quality of this wool and the smaller sizes. I also appreciate the price point so I can practice my knitting on actual wool (versus acrylic) without breaking the bank.

5 out of 5 starsThanks to this kit, I completed my first knitting project! I had to start again many, many times, but that was just a part of the learning process. With the amount of yarn supplied, I was able to increase the stitch count by 2 per row for my husbands large head. Great kit, and the video was very helpful.
