My history
Hi people! My name is Olya, I'm a lamp designer from Ukraine. In my store there are wooden lamps, ceramic crockery and rustic ceramic mugs, painted ceramic dishes and bowls, as well as printing in the technique of linocut. The history of creating my store is very interesting ...
When I was a very little girl my dad told me about the device of an electric bulb, as I remember this story today, I was so amazed by the process of creating light, that then I thought the light is a miracle!
Since that time, almost 30 years have passed ... during this time I got an education and work in a foreign company, but I was always attracted to lighting devices and one day I tried to make my first lamp. When I was 25, I started making lamps made of wire and mesh, using artificial flowers and natural twines. My dad always helped me in this, without his help I would not have achieved what I have now. Today I think that my works were primitive, but this was the beginning of a big way!
Later my husband joined our family company, one day we received a whole box of different pieces of wood that our friend was going to throw away, at that moment my husband said "No way! We'll take this wood to ourselves." We were struck by the texture and beauty of the material, we thought for a long time what to do with it and at some point I said "Let's try to make a lamp!". It was at this moment that our little family business got a second wind.
For 5 years now we have been working on the production of lighting devices, we work with different types of wood, we learn different types of connections, we take any orders, because we are interested in trying something new! My husband and father carry out installation work of electricity and woodworking, I develop models and contact my partners and buyers -
everyone contributes!
A few years ago I wanted to learn something new and I started pottery. To this day I continue to study pottery, because I dream to connect ceramics and lighting, and dreams as you know have a property come true)))
In the process of pottery, I have good friends, Taras and Julia, whose works are also represented in my store. It so happened that we all work in the same style, we have the same views and we want to develop, and so we had the idea to unite all our goods into one store.
Our works you will find in our store hhttp://Lihtar.etsy.com
So ... enjoy it!
best regards, Olga
