Cloth Masks (CDC Guidelines as of June 21, 2024 for cloth masks)

Cloth Masks can be made from a variety of fabrics and many types of cloth masks are available.

Each year, respiratory viruses are responsible for millions of illnesses and thousands of hospitalizations and deaths in the United States. In addition to the virus that causes COVID-19, there are many other types of respiratory viruses, including flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The good news is there are actions you can take to help protect yourself and others from health risks caused by respiratory viruses.

Wearing a mask can help lower the risk of respiratory virus transmission. When worn by a person with an infection, masks reduce the spread of the virus to others. Masks can also protect wearers from breathing in infectious particles from people around them. Different masks offer different levels of protection. Wearing the most protective one you can comfortably wear for extended periods of time that fits well (completely covering the nose and mouth) is the most effective option. There are many different types of masks that have varying abilities to block viruses depending on their design and how well they fit against your face.

If wearing a cloth mask: A proper fit over your nose, mouth, and chin to prevent leaks. Multiple layers of tightly woven, breathable fabric. Nose wire. Fabric that blocks light when held up to bright light source. Mask considerations tightly woven. Do NOT wear cloth masks with Gaps around the sides of the face or nose, Exhalation valves, vents, or other openings (see example on CDC website). Single-layer fabric or those made of thin fabric that don’t block light, wet or dirty material are not protective.

Visit the CDC for additional guidelines on full protection/Mask types.

OUR WORKMANSHIP AND DESIGN:
All of our mask are made from one continuous cut of fabric. Masks are double layered 100% cotton. Fabrics vary in weight/texture. Custom printed fabrics, (Adult Humor) are a heavier weight, (Some solid colors are a cotton/poly blend). If you have any questions regarding the weight, weave or print on a fabric PLEASE contact us before your purchase.

FABRIC(S): Some fabrics have their own scent(s) from manufacturing which are created by the fabric thread(s), ink, metallic products, glow products or shipping/storage. We do not pre-wash our fabrics. All fabrics we use once purchased are stored in a well ventilated and smoke- free environment. We do recommend you pre-wash your mask, by hand if desired after purchase. If you have "scent/migraine triggers" and are concerned regarding fabric scents, PLEASE do not hesitate to message us prior to your purchase.

Fabric weights and textures do vary. Please contact us with any questions before you purchase. (Mask are not returnable once purchased.)

WORKMANSHIP: Our mask seams are stitched, surged and double- reinforced for durability. 1/4" elastic is reinforced within the seams and measures approximately 8-1/2" on each side with adjusting beads. A 6" nose wire is stitched in the mask and helps it to fit snug across the bridge of the nose. This can also help those with fogging glasses. All mask are HANDMADE and can slightly vary in size. The approximate finished mask measures approximately 7" wide and 7" long , (when opened) to cover the nose, mouth and just beyond the chin. This mask comes with a filter pocket, (opening on the face side) which allows you to insert an additional filter protection if desired.
