I like to make talisman jewelry with mythical qualities, nature elements and geometric forms and shapes. I love that jewelry changes how someone feels on the inside and how they are perceived on the outside. I like to think that someone who wears my jewelry does because they have a connection with it. I believe that connection has the power to unleash magical qualities in that person. If nothing else, the power to see and appreciate more beauty around them. I love that jewelry can explore so many ideas and express ones individuality. It can be symbolic representing a belief, an aspiration, or values. It can mark time and represent a specific memory.

I have been making jewelry since I was ten. Jewelry design has taken me on a creative journey through my life. My style has evolved through these years as I learn more about myself and the craft. My jewelry has been with me through my experiences and growth as a person. As I evolve, so does my jewelry.

I have worked in jewelry stores and designed for a couple of jewelry lines, each having an impact on my personal aesthetic. The past several years I have been designing high quality jewelry components for a small wholesale company.

I enjoy the full circle of the creative process- I have an idea that I sketch in my notebook for a charm, link or pendant. I then draw it in the computer and send it off to the talented silversmiths in Asia. We then get a sample, approve or revise it, and order stock on it. Then I buy the pieces and make finished jewelry with them. It is quite magical to see some of my drawings come to life with such detail and elegance. I enjoy sharing the final designs here in the etsy community. Some of my favorite components are the ones that I can use in multiple ways, putting them together like puzzle pieces. When I find that right combination with the correct proportions, I get a deep feeling of satisfaction.

Most recently I have been learning about the processes of lots wax casting. My rings and my Memento Mori and Visionary necklaces were all hand carved and cast. Carving my designs in wax have taken my ideas to the next level. I use another muscle in my brain to see them in 3 dimensions and make them.

These days I am interested in the mystic, magical, talisman and occult. I'm intrigued with the magic of nature, sacred geometry and how everything is connected. I like to explore the duality of life and death, light and dark, beginnings and endings. There is always the underlining question of where we fit into the cosmos.
