Computer Consultant to Artist
My interest in photography and the arts began in college. A friend wanted me to model, but I quickly decided I liked being behind the camera better. I soon received my first SLR and my love affair started. After college, while working in the computer industry I attended the Washington School of Photography in Bethesda, Maryland and became even more infatuated with the craft of photography, especially the magic of the lighting and the darkroom. I knew this is what I wanted to do. It took me awhile to make the leap, but once I did I have been fortunate to work as a photographer in the areas of portraiture, events, stock, and product photography. Today, I use the computer as my darkroom, my studio as my play and workroom and I routinely attend workshops and listen to webinars for inspiration and further knowledge. Although I still do some commercial work, my joy is using photography and many of the software programs out there to create unique pieces reflecting my vision, creativity and knowledge.
