Meet the Maker
Hello, my fellow flower-sniffers, bug-collectors, and bee-botherers! My name is Alessandra and I am the owner of Meadow and Moth.
Meadow and Moth is a small-batch, nature-inspired collection of jewellery and pins, and each piece is hand-sculpted by me.
I began Meadow and Moth in 2022 after a woman who read the stars told me I should use my hands to create art. I bought a block of polymer clay and started experimenting - within a few months, I had opened my Etsy store and had my pieces stocked in three shops.
When designing my pieces, I draw from the thing I hold closest to my heart (aside from my boyfriend and cats) - nature. Having spent my childhood jumping in mud puddles in the wet and wild Welsh countryside, I feel most at ease enveloped in green. My jewellery is for those who share this deep fondness for the natural world and understand that we are not separate from it.
I make my pieces seasonally and in small batches. Every colour is hand-mixed, and each piece is hand-sculpted (although I plan on experimenting with clay cutters in the future). Everything is based on a specific species that can be found in the UK (unless stated otherwise in the description). I love doing what I do as it allows me to be both creative and inquisitive, learning about each creature or flower I make. I also wish to spread awareness and appreciation for these beautiful little beings that are sadly diminishing due to our treatment of the environment.
