I , Ayşe , am a jewelry designer and jewellery maker. It wasn’t easy to get these titles, though. Let me share with you the exciting adventure of my life during this journey. I found myself in New York because of my passion for design even though I studied computer programming at Bilkent University. New York is where the whole story begins although it started at different times for me and my sister. I studied there at Parsons The New School for Design. Later, I started to design by attending in jewelry design training programs at GIA and HRD due to my addiction to jewelry. But, just designing wasn’t enough. I wanted to explore the endless world of gemstones. I gained experience on the key elements of production jewelry making in the company of a great master craftsman who was very good at every phase of production. After a few years, I found myself as an instructor at the workbench. After becoming an artisan, with my master, we published a book called “Traditional Goldsmith Techniques” for jewelers and designers in order to teach others this secret as lasting information. I then returned to HRD company, where I had previously attended training courses as a student, this time as Jewelry Design Tutor.
