Modern Artifact Decor Co. is a joint venture from the designers at Wall Star Graphics. We started this journey in 2009 and built a loyal customer base with our wall decals and we're excited that we've been sourcing and providing true vintage lighting and decor since 2013.

Some of my fondest memories as a child are spending time in my grandfather's workshop in Niagara Falls, New York, where he, along with my father, built world class race boats during the 1940's and 50's. The beautifully finished wooden hulls, the hand lettered racing dress and the gleaming outboard motors were mesmerizing. That craftsmanship and attention to detail has been lost in our modern, fast paced world.
A love of history and fascination with programs like American Pickers, Oddities and American Restoration served as an impetus to give this endeavor a go.
These pieces are similar to the creation of a song where the seed idea, or inspiration piece is riffed on and arranged until a cohesive finished product emerges. Great care goes into scouring my stash of parts and hardware to match age, color, patina and style of the individual parts that become the whole.
As a working musician for over 30 years, I have spent lots of time repairing and rebuilding vintage stomp boxes, tube amplifiers, stage lighting and guitars. This kind of tinkering has given me a natural affinity with the lamps and other decor pieces we have created to share with you.
We desire to preserve with the pieces, some of the former glory of America when things were built to last. Saving these items from being melted down or land filled will hopefully give future generations a glimpse of our proud industrial heritage.
We love the the purity and truth that come from the combined elemental properties of wood, metal and glass when inspired by the human soul and hands.
We go to great lengths to ensure that all of our pieces are period correct and retain all the mojo and vibe you'd expect. They are meant to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing and we hope they bring you as much pleasure as they have us.
