Turning artistic dreams into custom art
MY MISSION
Creating art is not only a passion but a way of life. I never turn off the creative flow, and constantly find beauty and inspiration around me. I translate this vision into my art, and love turning your artistic dreams into a reality as well.
MY STORY
I’ve always loved art, and even majored in it throughout college, getting my bachelors in art education. I began selling paintings after graduation, and then turned my focus to starting a family. Sadly, I lost my first daughter and with her, my hope. I turned back to art as a way of therapy and distraction. I grabbed a book at the craft store about things to make with socks and started playing around my with grandmas 60 year old machine. I made my first sock monkey and proudly displayed it to my friends, who all started requesting their own. This is where Mushtushy started, from a life saving hobby that also combined my love for art and creating.
My business began to grow, and so did my family. I welcomed my second daughter just one year later and have watched her and my business blossom before my eyes. Slowly my art has evolved from sock monkeys (hence the Mushtushy name, representing the mushy squishy sock monkeys) into pet art, license plate art, and back to my true passion ....abstract acrylic canvas paintings inspired by water, women, and organic shapes.
EMILY JADE ART
My daughter started school this year, so that’s when I decided to add the new collection of fine art (emily jade art) as I branch out into art shows, in addition to my craft shows.
I never get bored because one day I’m cutting wood on the saw, and the next I’m splashing paint on a canvas (I do still make monkeys but they are few and far between....even though I have drawers and drawers of socks still haha). As cliche as it sounds, I am grateful and blessed everyday to be able to do what I love, and love what I do. I’m able to stay home and raise my daughter, while simultaneously raising my little business.....all because of the support of my fans, followers, and customers. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank my lucky stars, and you guys. So thank you!
GIVING BACK
One of the coolest things of all, is when I’m able to do a memorial portrait and capture someone’s loved one. It’s an honor to use my art not only for the beauty of it, but to help others too. I also donate a portrait of my sales to a rescue group I foster with (Boston terrier rescue of north Texas) as well as doing fundraisers with “urgent animals of Fort Worth”. I love using my art for fundraising auctions and charities as well. I use to think my job and talent in life where not that important, but when I realize all the good art can do, I am humbled by the talent I’ve been blessed with.
