Q: Care instructions

While I use quality products during the wash out process to remove any unbonded dye, I can not guarantee to you that there won’t be any bleeding during your first or second run through the washing machine. To avoid staining please wash alone until you feel confident there is no dye releasing from the fabric. (Best to check water color while washing) Please wash in cold water on delicate cycle or by hand. I suggest hanging or laying flat to dry on most items, especially handmade or delicate fabrics like rayon. Please send me a message if you need to know the specific care instructions before you buy. (I usually send a note in the package)

A Creative Outlet With a Unique Value System

Dye Agaric was established in early 2020 & started off like many other tie dye businesses. As a person who is already aware of the negative effects due to the fast fashion industry, I quickly realized standard practice in this medium of art did not quite fall within my personal value system. I vowed to stop ordering blanks from shady bulk warehouses & hunted for ethical sources.
From there, I constructed a new menu with items consisting of thrifted & upcycled threads, along with blanks handmade by small business seamstresses. This allows me to ensure that the people who make my new blanks are being paid a fair wage, and upcycling keeps unnecessary clothing items out of the landfills. I hunt for dyeable items in thrift store that are still in good, wearable condition. Sometimes these items have only been donated because of a pesky stain, and fortunately for Dye Agaric, we have the means to eliminate those stains & cover with multiple beautiful colors.
Tie dye or not, it is good practice to think about the clothes you are wearing & your closet's footprint.
