Frequently asked questions

Does the dye wash out or fade?

As with all clothing, colour can fade based on a few factors.

1. Exposure to sunlight; Direct sunlight will impact both synthetic and natural dyes overtime. For natural dyes, some plant pigments will fade faster than others. You can limit your time in direct sunlight to preserve the colouring and store the garment in a dark space.

2. Washing; Washing clothing will impact both synthetic and natural dyes overtime. For natural dyes, it is highly recommend to hand wash with PH-neutral detergent. You can run the item through a cold wash in a washing machine with PH-neutral detergent as well but the dye may slowly fade or transfer to other garments. Do not tumble dry, hang to dry.

Why use natural dye?

The natural dyes I use are dyes that are purely derived from plants making them plant-based and sustainable. I mainly use dyes from berries, vegetables, trees, plants, & flowers.

The dyes I create are 100% eco-friendly and non-toxic allowing them be safe for your body and the environment unlike synthetic dyes with leach toxins into your skin and the environment.

To put it in simple terms, fast fashion is really hard on our environment. I wanted to create a sustainable clothing option for eco-conscious individuals which opened my world up to natural dyes and the magic they hold.
