OUR STORY
Hey there! I’m JP, and my journey started when I moved to Brighton, UK, back in 2013. Even though I come from a family of furniture makers, my heart was set on music, so I got my music degree and kicked off my music career (or at least, I was trying 😅). At the same time, I also ran a little catering business, baking pastries for local coffee shops. Things were going great until 2020 hit, and, like so many others, my businesses came to a standstill.
With extra time on my hands and a need to keep the creative juices flowing, I decided to try my hand at woodwork and furniture making. That’s how my Etsy shop, JPDoesStuff, was born. I started with a few handmade pieces, and before I knew it, orders were coming in fast—from desks and tables to music studio furniture and garden pieces.
As the demand grew, I reached out to my friends—fellow musicians who also had some extra time due to the pandemic. We teamed up, learnt the ropes, and by summer 2021, our little crew had grown to ten. We rebranded as Pastos Co, reflecting our shared effort and vision.

At Pastos Co, we’re all about keeping things sustainable and ethical. We use only sustainably and ethically sourced timber, so our furniture isn’t just beautiful—it’s also kind to the planet. Everything is handmade by our team in our Pyecombe workshop, and we’re proud to support our local community by sourcing materials locally and ensuring fair wages for everyone involved.
We’re also all about sharing the love for woodworking. If you’re keen to learn, our doors are open to anyone who wants to dive into the craft.
