Meet Our Founders
Roxanne -
Roxanne brings a rich and diverse background in Retail and Sales Management, as well as Nonprofit Management, to Purple Door Alchemy. Before embarking on this journey with her husband, Harry, she founded and served as Chairman of a nonprofit organization in Arizona, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others and building meaningful communities.
Her love for crystals and the metaphysical began in her childhood, inspired by her mother’s geology studies and their rockhounding adventures throughout the Southwest. Roxanne’s spiritual foundation runs deep, descending from a lineage of Curanderas (Mexican Shamanic Healers), midwives, and psychics. Raised as an Omnist, she was immersed in herbalism, natural healing, and magical practices from a young age. Her mother nurtured her natural gifts, encouraging her to forge her own spiritual path, which Roxanne has carried into adulthood.
Life’s trials became a transformative force for Roxanne. Widowed while pregnant with her first child, she faced profound loss, depression, and the challenges of navigating motherhood alone. In her search for healing and balance, she found solace in spirituality, leaning into the light of her gifts and the support of those around her. It was during this period of rediscovery that a close friend introduced her to Harry. Their connection became a beacon of hope, and together, they began to build a new life filled with creativity, love, and purpose.
Harry:
Harry is a United States Marine Corps veteran who served with distinction during two combat deployments to Iraq, including the initial invasion of Iraq in 2003 and during the Battle of Fallujah.
Harry worked in Arizona's copper mines, where his fascination with the region’s vibrant rocks and minerals first began. This passion for geology would eventually inspire him to pursue rockhounding and deepen his connection to the Earth's natural treasures.
Building on his expertise, Harry went on to earn degrees in Business Management, and Manufacturing, establish a successful machine shop where he reverse-engineered, designed in CAD, and machined a wide range of parts, including components for aerospace companies. With over 20 years of experience as a machinist, Harry became known for his technical mastery and innovative approach.
Today, Harry combines his manufacturing skills and love for crystals to create the high-quality crushed minerals, slabs, tumbled stones, chips, and spheres that Purple Door Alchemy is celebrated for. For Harry, this work is not just a profession but also a form of therapy, helping him manage the challenges of C-PTSD while expressing his creativity and finding peace through the healing energy of crystals.
Harry’s unique journey—spanning military service, precision machining, and a deep appreciation for nature—is reflected in every piece he shapes, blending resilience, artistry, and the transformative power of minerals.
For Roxanne and Harry, Purple Door Alchemy is more than a business—it’s a reflection of the healing and transformation they have experienced. Through their passion for crystals and the metaphysical, they hope to light the way for others, offering not just products but a sense of connection, inspiration, and empowerment for all who walk through their doors.
