Retro Roots Modern Moods
Hello and welcome to RugRise!
I’m Devin, the face behind these unique rug designs. Born and raised in the U.S., I graduated with a degree in Computer Programming. But if you're wondering how a tech guy ended up in the world of traditional rug patterns, well, there's a story there.
My father hails from the vibrant and diverse land of Turkey. Growing up, our home was a mix of modern American lifestyle with splashes of Turkish traditions. Every summer vacation or family gathering, my dad would share tales of Turkey, its rich history, culture, and the intricate details of traditional crafts. One of these crafts that truly fascinated me was the art of rug weaving.
The complex patterns, each telling a story of its own, resonated with my programmer’s mind. Seeing a similarity between coding languages and the language of rug patterns, I began exploring this art deeper. RugRise is the culmination of this exploration, where technology meets tradition.
Each design you see here is inspired by traditional Turkish patterns, recreated with a modern touch. With RugRise, I hope to bridge the gap between the modern homes of today and the rich cultural stories from the past.
Thank you for stopping by and being a part of this journey with me. Here’s to rising together, one rug at a time!
Warmly, Devin
