Most people just see cardboard and packed pallets on my old NYC truck routes. I saw something else: first editions, signed copies, whole libraries someone decided weren’t worth keeping anymore.
Restaurants, hotels, offices —nobody thought twice about tossing books instead of finding them a home.
That stuck with me. So I started SDR Solutions out of Bayonne, NJ to actually do something about it. Now we pull books from estate cleanouts, library reductions, and curated collections that were seconds from the dumpster.
Over the years we've helped countless families unburden themselves of massive book collections when late relatives pass. Rehomed thousands of items, sorted, stored, catalogued, and when ordered shipped at the highest levels across multiple platforms. Worked with companies such as Netflix on set design and decor on a consistent basis. Books have changed the life of my family and I. We take the commitment of stewarding these items from us to our customers as our personal mission. Books are our business, but customers are our priority.
We inspect every item by hand for condition and provenance, and send them back out to readers who’ll treat them right. Antiquarian books, modernist first editions, signed copies, quality media — it all deserves better than a landfill.
We’re a small husband-and-wife team, we handle every listing ourselves, and we still don’t mind local pickup if you want to see what we’ve rescued in person.
