Welcome to Sparrow Art Vibes!

You’re gonna love what you find!

I’m Hazel and it’s a pleasure to welcome you to my Sparrow Art Vibes Shop! Covid-19 and frustration with the teaching bureaucracy motivated me to retire from teaching in 2020. It was a heartbreaking decision but I took the rear view mirror out of my car and I haven’t looked back. I now wear several hats: full-time rescue dog owner, gardener, photographer, and ARTrepreneur! (Not sure you can do four different things full-time but I’m trying). I don’t have any formal art training beyond a one semester art class in the 8th grade and another course in the 10th grade. That’s all. No formal instruction, no art degrees – just creative blood percolating thru my veins.

Inspiration •
In early 2020, after watching a cute YouTube video, I began creating beverage coasters using the acrylic pour technique on ceramic tiles. I then watched some videos on how to create items using resin. So, during the covid 19 shutdown, I decided to turn my spare bedroom into an art studio and flip my hobby of creating ceramic beverage coasters into a “real” business – turning my passion into profit!

ARTrepreneur •
Today, I create beautiful pieces of custom and personalized art that celebrates folks spending time together – entertaining indoors and out - eating, drinking, and playing board games. I’m a mixed media artist – experimenting with resin, mica powders, seashells, crushed glass, & glitter for a little bit of bling. In addition, my designs appeal to a variety of “vibes” – casual, modern, minimalist, art deco, coastal, or formal.

I am most proud of the “Afro Lady” collection which celebrates kinky hair and the beauty of women of color! I specialize in creating personalized products in your color palette. So, whether you’re looking for a special occasion gift, home accessory, or something for your workspace, Sparrow Art Vibes hopes to provide a wonderful online shopping experience!
