Sayle Moser Photography began it's origins in rural Oregon where I grew up in a Holistic Health Community during the 70's that my parents started. No TV allowed! My imagination and the great outdoors were my playland, with my reluctant older sister, and today they still are. My love of exploration and learning new things is what really drives me. I think creativity functions in everyone to some extent, but for some of us it becomes virtually our whole existence, especially pisceans. Making things for people brings me great joy. I love the whole process…..the search for the image, developing the image and the framed complete image.

For me photography just happened in an instant. One day I walked into a building in Napa, California looking for an apartment to live in and it had these beautiful large scale black and white photographs on the wall. In that instant I knew I wanted to do that..... I wanted to make beautiful art like that. I didn't even own a camera but someone let me borrow their old film camera and I signed up for my first darkroom class right away. Since then I have never put the camera down. I love it just as much now, if not more.

I specialize in Fine Art Photography. My body of work shows my search for beauty, light and the sacred. My muses often change but my favorite categories to shoot are spiritual, religious, angel statues, sacred sites, nature, Lake Michigan, the beach, botanic prints and architecture. My photos do not fit into a category.......this is my interpretation and journey of the world I live in........captured one frame at a time. My strength lies in the contentment to let the scenes tell their own story or remind you of your own story. My hope is that the image leads you to connect with a place that has meaning for you or creates meaning for you.

My body of work is a compilation of the last 25 years, a mixture of black & white and color. I have been inspired by many people and teachers. I am most grateful to Emanuel Volakis who helped me get started on this path in a professional way and who also happens to be the photographer who had those large black and white images on the wall that inspired me in the first place. I am also grateful to Paul Lynn who bought me my first Nikon F4 professional camera and traveled with me through many countries. Now I shoot with a Sony mirrorless digital camera.

I currently live in the greater Chicago area and love living here. I was a small town girl who didn't know she loved all that a big city has to offer. There are so many things to explore and take pictures of here, not to mention the beautiful Lake Michigan. I also love to travel and do so as often as possible. The cultures, languages, interesting people, music and food that await at new destinations is endlessly intriguing to me.
