A family affair....
Hello! I'm Jo, founder of Sewscene and I live in Braintree, Essex, England with my family of four. I am a SEN parent working a part time regular job in the emergency services and also running my own embroidery business, Sewscene.
I set Sewscene up back in late 2017 when I took a gamble and purchased my first embroidery machine. I started digitising, designing and testing out embroidery from scratch all self taught for a Volkswagen car club I help run which I'm super passionate about. I've always been very arty and love creating things so I thought to myself 'how hard can it be?'
Fast forward to today, I now successfully embroider for several car clubs, small and large businesses. I absolutely love crafting so love to create handmade decorations and pieces for the home, trinkets, gifts and more!
In 2020 I started creating Gonk Gnomes, these are my absolute favourite to create and I can personalise these too.
Everything I make is done with care and passion. I'm a self confessed perfectionist (which annoys the husband!) so you can be assured that if I'm not happy with what I produce it doesn't leave the house until it's perfect.
