PLEASE NOTE:
PRODUCT CREATION AND DISPATCH TIME:
As all items are handmade to order, please allow 1-3 business days (this excludes weekends) for your items to be made and dispatched. From there, the order is in the hands of delivery services, which have been patchy to say the least given recent circumstances. Please note: Shipping estimates are not a guaranteed delivery date.
UK Buyers:
Orders are sent via Royal Mail 1st class, this is NOT tracked. This should be received within 2 business days, however there can often be delays due to the pandemic.
For tracked postage, please see shipping upgrades.
International Buyers:
Orders are sent via Royal Mail International Standard, this is NOT tracked. Royal Mail aim to deliver items within 7 business days. There have however, been substantial delays to deliveries from the UK to elsewhere in the world of 2-8 weeks.
For tracked shipping, please see shipping upgrades.
I would like nothing more than for your orders to arrive as quickly as possible, but unfortunately this simply isn’t the reality of where we are given the stresses placed on delivery services right now. Again, I ask that if these timeframes are not something that you can live with, please refrain from ordering until the situation gets better. Thank you for your understanding.
REFUNDS/EXCHANGES:
For hygiene reasons, I am unable to accept returns or refunds on body jewellery that has been opened. If you change your mind or have ordered the incorrect size, the item is eligible for return only if it is still sealed. Return cost is the responsibility of the buyer, as is the replacement shipping cost. If the buyer opts for a refund, the original shipping cost is non-refundable.
This policy is in place for not only my protection, but for that of my customers as well. For this reason, please read the product description carefully. When placing your order, please take the time to ensure that the material, gauge, and diameter of the product is correct. If after you have placed your order, and before you have received a dispatch notification email, you realise that you have made a mistake with your order, please get in touch as soon as possible. The buyer assumes responsibility for making sure that they are ordering the correct product and that they have checked for any potential sensitivities or allergies before purchasing. Ultimately, I want every single one of my customers to be happy with their product, so I will always do what I can to ensure your order is right for you.
SHIPPING ADDRESSES:
I will send your product to the address on your Etsy account. Therefore, please make sure that the address on your account is accurate and up-to-date. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure this information is correct before purchasing. As such, if after you have received a dispatch notification you realise that the address is incorrect, I am unable to take responsibility for this error. Once the package has been dispatched, I am unable to change the address. Also, if there is an error in your address and the package is returned to me, you will need to pay to have the item re-shipped.
FINAL NOTES:
- It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the address on their Etsy account is correct. Please get in touch immediately and before the package has been sent if you notice an error with your address.
- Buyers from outside of the UK are responsible for any additional fees garnered in the transit of their order, such as VAT, taxes, and customs duties.
Finally, I want to stress how important it is to me that my customers are happy with their item. Please get in touch prior to ordering if you have any questions or special requests.

Frequently asked questions
Which material should I choose?
Most of my products can be made in a range of different materials.
The right material for you really depends on a lot of different factors, not least where on your body you intend to wear the piece. As a general rule of thumb, 14kt gold/rose gold filled and titanium work well for most people they are nickel free and low maintenance.
316L stainless steel is also a good, versatile option as it is durable, affordable and highly resistant to corrosion. It does however contain trace amounts of nickel, whilst this will go unnoticed with many people, it isn't recommended for those with hyper allergies to nickel.
Argentium silver is highly recommended over sterling silver. Please scroll down for more information on argentium silver.
How do I care for my jewellery?
Please note: All metal jewellery can tarnish! This is not a reflection on the quality of materials used. Metal oxidisation can occur when worn for a number of reasons, such as being in contact with moisture, chemicals or cosmetics. They also react to the acidity of your skin. That explains why jewellery can tarnish faster on some people than others. However, the discolouration should only be on the surface and can usually be removed by gently wiping them with a microfibre cloth.
What size should I get?
See sizing charts in images. We are all unique. Not one size fits all, and unfortunately I cannot recommend a specific size for you. There are 2 sizing options that should be considered when purchasing jewellery for your piercings; gauge and inside diameter.
Gauge:
Gauge refers to the thickness of the hoop that threads into your piercing. The thickness required will depend on the type of piercing it is for and personal preference. I offer 4 gauges in my shop; 16G (thickest), 18G, 20G and 22G (thinnest).
Gauge size conversions:
16G - 1.2mm
18G - 1mm
20G - 0.8mm
22G - 0.6mm
You may want to stick with the gauge that you were originally pierced with, or perhaps downsizing to a thinner gauge is preferable for you.
Inside diameter:
The inside diameter you require can depend on various factors such as; body part size, piercing placement (e.g. high or low on your nose) or personal preference (snug or loose fitting). Inside diameter required will most likely vary across each of your piercings. The most reliable way of finding out the size you need is with the help of a piercing professional in person.
Please note:
Please keep this in mind that with twist open hoops, the smaller the inside diameter is, the harder it will be to open and close. This is especially true when in combination with thicker gauges, you may require a tool or an extra pair of hands.
Why don’t you sell 925 sterling silver jewellery?
Sterling silver is made of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. The copper content makes the silver more prone to tarnishing, this is a natural process that cannot be prevented. Whilst sterling silver can last if cleaned and polished regularly, oxidisation can occur rapidly in some cases and can be difficult to resolve. This is why Lumicea has made the decision to move away from sterling silver and work with a purer, superior silver alloy, Argentium Silver.
What is Argentium Silver?
Argentium silver 935 and 940 are revolutionary alloys made with either 93.5% or 94% pure silver and added germanium. This results in a purer, stronger, brighter and whiter silver alloy than traditional sterling silver. As it contains much less copper than sterling silver, Argentium silver is more tarnish resistant, requiring less frequent maintenance and polishing. Argentium silver is also hypoallergenic, making it a viable option for those allergic to sterling silver.
