Announcement
Even up here in the northern mountains of New Mexico at 8500' spring has arrived. Humming birds are buzzing around the blossoms of my nectarine and plum trees and I heard the first meadowlark the other morning. Even so I woke to snow just two days ago. I love that push pull between winter and spring every year, spring always winning out.
I am about to get back to my studio after a long recovery from hip replacement surgery so start watching for new designs. I have so many gorgeous beads and pendants to work with. You won't want to miss them.
A word about my pricing: I have been deeply concerned lately because the costs of materials I traditionally use, turquoise, Wild Horse, White Buffalo, old pawn Navajo pearls, old trade beads and vintage Navajo pendants, along with everything else, actually, have skyrocketed. As a result I've had to raise my prices accordingly to make even a small profit. This makes some of my pieces out of reach for too many of my clients. But I've found over the years that, often, a problem can create an opportunity: that hopeful notion that when one door closes another opens kind of Buddhist reasoning. And I'm finding it to be true in this case, I'm happy to say. I'm finding other stone, other materials, that I enjoy working with that are beautiful and less costly, so I can continue to offer a range of prices. I'll carry on with those sumptuous southwestern materials, of course, but understand they'll be out of reach for many of my clients and that saddens me. Nothing to be done about it I'm afraid, except to seek out good deals that I can pass on to you.
Thank you for your interest in my small shop. It means the world to me and it is what allows we small craftspeople to continue our work. Wishing you good health and many blessings.
With appreciation and love.
Peace to you,
Jeane

5 out of 5 starsI really like the necklace, Jeane’s choice of material, shape, texture and colors of the beads to complement the Kachina pendant is just perfect!
Jeane responded on Feb 24, 2024
I'm so happy you like it, Michelle. I found that little kachina to be charming and fun to work with and those beads kind of chose themselves.

5 out of 5 starsI have to say that this is by far the most unique and beautiful piece of jewelry that I own!! The colors of the stones and beads, and the rarity of them, are just gorgeous! Also, thank you so much for your words of wisdom in the comments that you include on your site. I am always inspired by them. Thanks again!

I'm so pleased, Linda, that you love your necklace. I was so happy with it myself and hoped it would find a good home. Sometimes beads just seem to speak up and tell one what they want. These beads spoke to me in such a way and rather put themselves together more than I did. I was just the hands of the designing I'm thinking. I'm also delighted that you enjoy my little stories. Etsy tells us to keep it short but I just can't help being very enthusiastic about the beads I'm so fortunate to be able to handle. I like to think of you participating in these bead's long journey now. Wear them in good health.

5 out of 5 starsThe amazing stone in this necklace acted as a siren song to call me when I was about to sink from the weight of life's problems. The song says that beauty can soothe, that this can be fixed, that it's worth going back to redo things until they are right. I encourage everyone to read Jeane's descriptions of each necklace, even if you aren't ready to buy. I guarantee that you will learn something valuable about gemstones, design or about yourself.
Jeane responded on Feb 12, 2024
Gosh, Gloria, thank you! How incredibly sweet you are. I'm so happy your gentle piece of the earth's history is soothing you in your times of trouble. There's no higher compliment than that.

5 out of 5 starsThis is such a beautiful necklace. It's clear how much care and creativity went into crafting it. Jeane was a joy to buy from, so communicative along every step of the journey, and is very clearly a wonderful person.
Jeane responded on Feb 12, 2024
And what a journey it was, right Ja? Somehow this one's travels to Europe were far more adventurous than others I've sent. But you have it in hand now which is all that matters. I'm happy you're pleased with it.
