Announcement    Even up here in the northern mountains of New Mexico at 8500' spring has arrived. Humming birds are buzzing around the blossoms of my nectarine and plum trees and I heard the first meadowlark the other morning. Even so I woke to snow just two days ago. I love that push pull between winter and spring every year, spring always winning out.

I am about to get back to my studio after a long recovery from hip replacement surgery so start watching for new designs. I have so many gorgeous beads and pendants to work with. You won't want to miss them.

A word about my pricing: I have been deeply concerned lately because the costs of materials I traditionally use, turquoise, Wild Horse, White Buffalo, old pawn Navajo pearls, old trade beads and vintage Navajo pendants, along with everything else, actually, have skyrocketed. As a result I've had to raise my prices accordingly to make even a small profit. This makes some of my pieces out of reach for too many of my clients. But I've found over the years that, often, a problem can create an opportunity: that hopeful notion that when one door closes another opens kind of Buddhist reasoning. And I'm finding it to be true in this case, I'm happy to say. I'm finding other stone, other materials, that I enjoy working with that are beautiful and less costly, so I can continue to offer a range of prices. I'll carry on with those sumptuous southwestern materials, of course, but understand they'll be out of reach for many of my clients and that saddens me. Nothing to be done about it I'm afraid, except to seek out good deals that I can pass on to you.

Thank you for your interest in my small shop. It means the world to me and it is what allows we small craftspeople to continue our work. Wishing you good health and many blessings.

With appreciation and love.

Peace to you,
Jeane

My Jewelry

Shop members

  • Jeane Weigel

    Owner, Maker, Designer

I am Jeane George Weigel, an artist living in the mountains of northern New Mexico. I strive to make pieces of warmth and character that give back something of what this place gives to me. Most are Native-inspired or come from my sense of place.

  • Willie

    Art Director

Willie has been actively training on photo shoots ever since he came home from the shelter. He has an eye for clearing sites in preparation for all Etsy shoots. The best Art Director I've ever worked with.

  • Denver

    Human Resources

Denver (Denny) is all about keeping the whole crew chill. If there's a problem, don't sweat it. He'll find a solution. He's always good for a needed pep talk and a hug when necessary.

Production partners

  • Kathy Kessler

    Great Barrington, MA

She is an author who has written a book about me. Well, about the two of us: two artists seeking to find and live their art.
