The low down on the Steampunk Arcade.
I am a retired mechanical engineer with time on my hands now for indulging my passion of tinkering around in my garage workshop making, and repairing things. And being a big fan of the Steampunk movement I really enjoy making small accessories to go with the fantastic outfits created by other artists. I would love to make larger and more sophisticated pieces, but with the shipping costs from the UK being so expensive it is not possible.
Anyway, all the pieces I make are solidly made using solder and rivets, with no glue involved except for the glass tubes which are fixed in place using two part epoxy resin, so they will not fall apart a few weeks after purchase, and should give years of pleasure if treated with reasonable care. I do not put lacquer on my capsule necklaces because over time it get's scratched and chipped, so they just need a little rub over with a soft cloth now and again as the copper and brass tones down.
I provide large high resolution pictures of my creations so you can see exactly what is being offered, but please bear in mind that my items are relatively small, so that fine scratches and small blemishes will be greatly exaggerated.
The stash capsules I make are all handmade individual designs, so unlike the mass produced factory made ones, that are churned out on on automatic computer controlled lathes, they are open to endless variations of form. So that no two will be exactly the same and I will be adding new creations on a regular basis.
