Happiness is handmade...
I've loved sewing since I was a little girl. It's a gift passed on to me by the women in my family who are all makers and a huge inspiration to me. The things they have made for me hold a special place in my heart. Much more than anything bought in a store. I loved the handmade dolls they made me to play with. Each doll had its own unique personality, almost like it reflected the person who made it, making them even more special to me. My mum even had her own small business making adorable animal dolls. Our house was filled with handmade bunnies and mice, bringing a smile to everyone's faces
When my daughter Seren was younger I wanted to share my love of sewing with her, so I made her a doll. I was instantly hooked and fell in love with doll-making. As I started creating dolls for family and friends, I developed my style and honed my skills. My love of doll-making led me to start my own business in 2018, working from my home studio in the heart of England. Since then I've had the privilege of making dolls for people across the world
Making a doll with your own hands is such a rewarding experience. Choosing fabrics, seeing their personality come to life with each stitch you make and the look of joy on a loved ones face when you give it to them - I could never tire of it!
Through Studio Seren I want to pass on everything I've learnt so you can make your own handmade creations. My hope is to inspire in you a love and passion for sewing
Combining my background in design and marketing, I've designed my patterns to be accessible to everyone, even if you're a complete beginner! They're more than just sewing patterns - they're more like a course in doll-making. They include step-by-step photographs and really detailed instructions. Packed with helpful tips, clear explanations of sewing terms and stitches, and friendly prompts to help you avoid common mistakes, my sewing patterns aim to empower you to make a doll that is as good as any you can buy in a store. I've even included templates to help make drawing the doll's faces easier
When you buy a doll pattern from me you are invited to join a supportive Facebook community. Here I share video demonstrations, answer commonly asked questions and you can see dolls made by other members. There are opportunities to join in with sew-alongs and ask questions. It's a friendly space where you'll be able to connect with me and makers from around the world
I take time to create patterns that will enable you to make dolls that will stand the test of time. Each pattern goes through rigorous external testing to ensure they are well made and easy to make. My goal is to help you create something that can be cherished and passed down through generations in your family
