Hi, I am Tony Frisby and having recently retired, I have been able to focus on my photography and am investigating various avenues (including ETSY) to share my work in order to become more noticed and established as a local artist.

I have lived in Durham for most of my life and have always loved the coast and countryside around my home town. This love of the North of England has inspired my interest in photography but I have often been frustrated in my attempts to capture images that reflect my appreciation of the world around me.

As a photographer, I am trying to see the natural world in a different, more unique way. I have started to focus on the small-scale detail within a scene that is often overlooked, trying to see things differently and find beauty in what can initially appear to be ordinary or mundane.

Seeing and appreciating this detail through the viewfinder can lead to some beautiful, abstract and artistic images. I am trying to use photography as an art form rather than simply as a means of capturing a record or "stock image" of a scene.

I am pleased with the results from this approach and I hope that you like them too.
