Welcome to my etsy shop for my Teeth and Claws brand, (www.teethandclaws.co.uk) take a look at my unique range of cards, gifts, and home décor, all featuring my original pen and ink illustrations. I hope to create genuinely useful products, which are darkly quirky and beautiful too. All my products are designed and illustrated by me by hand, here in my small Nottingham based studio, and manufactured here in the UK in small sustainable quantities.
I've loved drawing since I was small. My favourite subjects then and now have always been the toothy, the clawed, and the gloriously strange and weird, dragons, crocodiles, monsters, and all manner of dark creatures, usually with teeth and claws! It felt only right to name my shop after them.
After many years working as a professional illustrator in the publishing industry, I started to build Teeth and Claws as a home for my illustrated beasties, particularly my dragons, who were very keen to get out into the world, but over time it has grown and evolved into more gothic subjects, which I love, and my range has expanded to include my illustrated ravens and crows, owls, sea monsters, wolves and most recently inky spiders! With more to come.
I absolutely love designing and illustrating every element of my inky beings, here by hand in my small Nottingham based studio. I work primarily in pen and ink, coloured inks, and watercolour, with the occasional foray into digital paint too. I always aim to create work with genuine character and personality, and love adding detailed textures of feathers, fur and scales, but ultimately hope to create illustrations that feel alive and connect with you, to share some of my quirky illustrated world and hopefully bring some joy, if on the slightly darker side of things!
I am passionate about detail and quality and love making useful things. I make products which I use here in my own home and hope you enjoy using them in yours too. I have taken great care to work with a select range of UK based manufacturers to create my range of Cards, Notebooks, Tea Towels, Coasters, Place Mats and Cosmetic Bags. All my products are made here in the UK in small sustainable quantities to my exacting specifications.
Every part of the Teeth and Claws range is made with care: from the initial sketch, through design, illustration, and manufacturing, to the moment each piece is meticulously packed and sent on its way to a new home, by me. I am a one person business and hope you enjoy my work.
