Welcome to The Wonky Fox - helping you create your very own sanctuary space filled with meaningful treasures, that accent the making of magical memories. Sales of all my handmade crafts help me give specialist care to the rescue foxes that live in sanctuary here. It's my reason, my motivation, my 'why'. (They are my muses... and my bosses!!)

I've always been a nature bug... I grew up in rural Ireland, spending most of my days outside in nature; feeling close to it. It was no surprise to me as an adult to find myself treating injured animals I encountered, volunteering at a wildlife hospital & a fox rescue, learning as I went. That led to offering a specialist home for foxes with disabilities that need sanctuary; foxes were an animal I had studied for years & had fallen completely in love with them. Sanctuary space for them isn't readily available. They are highly tricky & expensive animals to care for! (No, I absolutely do not recommend them as pets!)
I had initially started off using my handmade skills in a fundraising capacity for the organisations I volunteered for - making all sorts for them to sell to raise funds. I would go looking for 'fox wreaths' or 'fox fairy lights' to buy to donate for their fundraiser auction and couldn't find any! Nobody made them!? So, I made some! I'd always been a creative, crafty person so there was nothing I wasn't willing to try. If I could imagine it, then maybe someone else might like it too? Soon it snowballed into making all kinds of wildlife & nature themed things that I knew there was an audience for.
I *am* that audience.

Those handmade crafts are now the backbone of my own project and how I sustain what I do. The Wonky Fox allows me to use all the creative skills that I've spent years honing. And to use the inspiration I enjoy daily to inspire others. And the nicest part is that the people I deal with from day to day tend to have the same passion for unspoiled nature & wildlife that I do. We're all on the same page. We all want a world where nature is given space to flourish & thrive. We all value the sanctuary space that nature offers to recharge and connect to ourselves & to what holds meaning for us. And we all adore wildlife :)
I moved a few years ago to the midst of the Cambridgeshire countryside... we have 16 acres of ancient woodland, pasture & brook - an idyllic home to foxes, badgers, deer, rabbits, hares, bats, newts, stoats, weasels, birds... the occasional otter... I am truly blessed to be here... and all of it being managed to be wildlife friendly & sustain the nature that inspires everything I do. There's a lot of pressure on nature & I've been busy planting fruiting hedges & trees, wildflowers & providing hibernacula, nesting boxes & feeding stations for the wildlife that live here... weaving resilience into the landscape. And as my little handmade business grows... thanks to my fantastic customers ... the more I am able to do.
