Why do I make sunscreen?
Where do I begin? There's so many reasons why I decided to start crafting the perfect sunscreen. For starters, most sunscreen out there is garbage. It's packed with chemicals that instantly get in your bloodstream, smells awful and not to mention, just sits on your beautiful skin being useless just leaving you to hope that it's really blocking the sun without giving you cancer :/ I know that's a little harsh but we're all thinking it.
I think the turning point of me really taking my small sunscreen biz seriously was my son being born. He was just so tiny and adorable and oh so pale.... I always thought my olive skin tone genes would win out, but not with this one. He was just so vulnerable to the sun (really we all are vulnerable but he was just so obviously... translucent). With us biking, walking and beaching so often, I couldn't stand to put any of the cheap stuff on him. Then when I searched for a good, natural, simple sunscreen where I could understand all the ingredients and know that they would be good for him and I found myself looking at shops in Australia.
So I refined my mission. I wanted a sunscreen (or sun block, whichever you want to call it) that had awesome ingredients known for restoring skin, was made with Zinc Oxide to get maximum protection and that didn't cost a fortune. I think that I've managed to come up with something great for my family and I hope you enjoy it too!
Much love,
Amber
