A sewing machine, an industrial laser, a scroll saw dot dot dot

Decades in the corporate world, my left brain was well occupied but my heart wanted more. Remember that time we all put fabric on our face? It was serendipity, for my heart and right brain anyway. It awakened a long archived passion for color, pattern and texture. I craved creativity and I love mashups, so my sewing machine was soon accompanied by a laser, then a scroll saw, then a miter saw ... I won't lie, some things are very intimidating--like the tablesaw that stayed in its box for over a year! That cliché "do what makes you happy"? Holy smokes! Find it! Do it!
Whether it's painting, building, writing or baking, I encourage you to feed the right brain if you don't already. Life happens, and sometimes it's tragic or chronic, and sometimes these manifestations of inspiration help us cope and help us fill a void. And sometimes, creating just makes me happy! The maker's day is not linear, often times it's chaotic and messy (green paint on fingers), and sometimes it's a bit scary--I had no business getting that tablesaw!
