In 1995 Mr. Armato moved from New York to Houston, where he currently resides. For ten years he worked primarily as a commercial, location, and art photographer. During the early 2000s he worked and traveled throughout Italy.
Along The Way He Developed A Talent For Photographic Retouching and Image Editing - A Skill He Still Utilizes Today For Himself, Other Photographers, And Interested Clients.
Returning to Texas with a new found interest in sculpture, painting and jewelry, he co-founded Jewellians, an Art To Wear fashion jewelry company. That company grew into a factory based situation selling to such stores as Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Henri Bendel, Cache' and Nordstrom.
In 2012 the factory evolved into a more personal jewelry company Tony Armato Accessories, designing One Of A Kind pieces and Gift Items for selected clients and specialty stores.
During this time one client requested a special piece for the opening of a new store location.
Combining his photographic knowledge of color and light, and texture and sparkle as a jeweler, a wall mirror was suggested to be an ideal vehicle for this fusion. Commissions from private collectors and corporations soon followed.
Always an avid collector of vintage photographs, in 2020 Tony decided to share these, and selected images from his photographic portfolio, in Note Card form.
In the Fall of 2023, 'Art Mirrors Life' will market directly to interested individuals, Fine Gift and Stationery stores.
This digital art card series has become the logical extension of his talents and journey as a photographer, artist and craftsman.
