I've been crocheting and knitting since about the time slap bracelets got banned in schools. I crocheted blankets with a manic bruise on my left ankle from the Skip-It. My knitting knuckles were a little sore from smacking the tetherball.
You get the idea.
As a longtime fiber artist, I strive for the highest degree of quality in the items I create. I design many of the plushies I offer. Even when working with a pattern, I am always looking for a way to do something neater, more polished and more original.
That's why I run my series "Maxine Goes Rogue", where I put a new twist on popular makes to challenge myself. I also might ramble a bit while crocheting, touching on important topics such as mushroom identification and solving the homeless slug crisis!
