Making modern handmade items from the Northern Plains.
Walsh Made is the creative work of husband-and-wife team Justin and Chelsey Walsh — two makers from the Northern Plains who share a love for building, design, and creating meaningful things by hand.
What began as a simple idea — to make a few pieces for our own home — quickly grew into something much bigger. We talked about opening an Etsy shop for over a year before finally deciding to go for it. Between running another business, raising four kids, volunteering, and managing everyday life, it wasn’t exactly the perfect time. But the truth is, there’s rarely a “perfect time” to start something you care about.
For us, making is what keeps us balanced. Justin grew up in the shop learning woodworking from his dad and has spent years building custom furniture and restoring mid-century pieces. Chelsey brings an eye for color, detail, and design — influenced by her love for home décor, plants, and creating spaces that feel warm and lived in.
Together, we design and handcraft modern, minimal pieces that blend form and function — made to complement real life, not compete with it. Every piece is built in our North Dakota shop with attention to detail, quality materials, and a focus on simplicity that stands the test of time.
What started as a hobby has grown into a small maker studio that’s deeply connected to our family life and values. We believe in thoughtful design, honest craftsmanship, and creating things that last — the kind of pieces that carry a story, get used every day, and still look good doing it.
Thanks for stopping by and supporting handmade. We hope the things we make bring a bit of warmth, intention, and story into your home — just like they have in ours.
