So what is a Whistle Pig???
WhistlePig Designs got its name in a funny way. My husband is from England and I'm from the United States. When my husband first moved here, we would drive around all the time so I could show him the "sites". He always brought his camera because he's an amazing photographer and loves wild life photography most of all.
During one of our drives around we saw a wood chuck (a very very common little rodent in NY where we live). My husband gasped and started yelling for me to stop the car because there was this new little creature that he wanted to photograph. To my surprise it was a wood chuck. I laughed so hard as I pulled over and let him take a picture of this little guy and let him know that he's probably going to see 100 of them this spring and summer.
One day, when we had seen another wood chuck, I started to wonder if a wood chuck was the same as a ground hog.... it was. Along with the wood chuck and ground hog, this common rodent was also known as a Whistle Pig... we laughed and laughed and from then on, every time we saw one we yelled WHISTLE PIG in unison!!! And WhistlePig Designs was born :)
