Who I am:
The name Zanti Kamala is from Sanskrit. Zanti means calmness of one’s mind and Kamala means lotus flower. Both of these traits describe who I am and where I am in my life; I think they show through my work as well. I have persistently risen out of the mud of life with the resilience of a lotus and I work on calmness of mind on a daily basis. Much of my calmness comes with the creation of all that you see here, and I know I pass resilience on in my work.
In 2014, my 24 year old son passed away in a car accident, leaving behind a little boy who is just like his dad. I needed to find new directions and passions in life as part of my healing process. I chose the path I am on now to honor my son by being the best that I can be for myself.
I am also the mother of 2 daughters; one of which has made me a grandmother of 3! That makes 4 grandkids and I wouldn't change it for the world. Grandchildren are the best gifts and I cannot imagine my life without the joy that they give me. I adore my family and believe that it is my greatest source of strength.
Why I do what I do:
In 2008, I had a massive stroke that left me with left side neglect. I taught myself wire weaving as therapy. It was the best way I could find to keep my dexterity working and get my brain to build new pathways and recognize my left side again.
In 2016, to help ease my mother-in-law's passing, I started on my Reiki journey. It felt natural to me and I quickly learned to use it in everyday life.
I love learning new ways to heal for myself and new ways to help other people. The more I see, the more I want to learn! I enjoy working with the energies of stones and crystals and there is always a new stone or bead that I am working on. I can’t seem to resist them! My home is full of personal stones as well as future stones and crystals, so if you have a favorite just ask.. I might have it in my vast collection.
As a Reiki master, I cleanse each stone and set its intention of peace, happiness, and vibrations for your highest good before it goes out the door. It is my gift to you, and my contribution to your own healing journey.
Where I draw inspiration:
There is no greater artist in the world than nature. I embrace the healing and energetic qualities of nature and seek to make products that encourage living naturally. I personally use all of the products that I make and share them with you because of my passion for them. I love going out foraging and letting nature inspire and guide me. The energies of the world will speak if you are receptive to their message. Believe it or not, we have quite a few neat things in the Yukon and the views are to die for!
