Cornish based Designer and self taught metalsmith. Inspired by the beautiful coast and rugged landscapes
It all started with a love affair of the Cornish coast. The ever changing boundary where the land meets the sea. Full of textures and patterns that can be found in the rock surfaces and cliff faces of Cornwall, my work is my expression of the shapes and tactile nature of this gorgeous coastline.
I live in the stunning harbour village of Porthleven on the south coast of Cornwall with my young family. We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world where we spend our sunny days exploring the beautiful beaches or wondering through the woodlands.
My sterling silver designs are an express of my love of the Cornish coastline. My shapes and textures all all influenced by the stunning patterns round in the rocks and cliff faces, the bubbles of the sea as the waves lap the sandy shore or the shimmer of the moon glistening off the calm midnight sea. If you are looking for something special that encapsulates Cornwall, you won't find these unique designs anywhere else!
I'm a self taught metalsmith with a Textile Design degree! My creative journey began as a weaver and textile designer back in 2010 then after having my little boy in 2012 I found I no longer had the time (or space) to weave anymore so began looking for something I could work on for 10minutes here and there and didn't take up a lot of room.
The rest is history (as they say)! 6 years later I have spent time perfecting my craft, honing my skills and feeding my passion. With 2 years of teaching jewellery making workshops under my belt my confidence has grown and I am now really excited to channel all my enthusiasm into my etsy shop as I relaunch it in September 2018, offering all my best selling handmade silver pieces online.
Thank you for taking a peak into my creative world! If you would like to see more of my process and behind the scenes of my jewellery business check out my blog; https://zoehowarthjewellery.blogspot.com
