Introducing ourselves!
Doug's idea for Adopted Acres Soap Co. came after sharpening a straight razor for someone. He began researching, and went down the rabbit hole of wet shaving! Bowls, brushes, soaps, splashes, and scents. He has claimed a closet in our home as his own for all things shaving! After many days of shaving twice a day and trying many different artisan's shave soaps, he began to dream of making's own shave soap using quality products.
One of those products is beef tallow from our family beef farm! Cara's father and brother in-law farm over 1,000 acres and have an Angus beef cattle herd. Cara's sister manages the beef sales operation. You can buy beef by the half, quarter, eighth, or by individual cut. Doug has acquired beef suet and began rendering it down to use in his shave soap. If you are local to Ohio, check out County Line Meats.
The idea of making his own shave soap and wanting to create meaningful jobs for our adult children, birthed the idea to create Adopted Acres Soap Co. Doug has met some great people in the wet shave community who have talked to, encouraged, and offered suggestions and their creativity to help us launch Adopted Acres Soap Co. We are forever grateful for the love and support.
What can you expect from Adopted Acres Soap Co.? Our plan is to create splashes to pair with our shave soaps, as well as creating limited edition soaps for holidays. We are currently trialing a women's shave soap, and room sprays. During the month of the kid's birthdays, we have ideas to have them come up with a theme/scent for a shave soap.
